Meet Mary Abele

Hello, I’m Mary. I am certified through the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors (ACBC), and I meet with people online or in person in Burlington, North Carolina.

The heart of my counseling is simple: to love God’s people, to bless them, and to help them find their way to Him. I am only a helper along the way. It is the Lord Himself who, through His Holy Spirit, does the real work of counseling and changing hearts.

Like a friend walking alongside you, I would be honored to walk with you as you bring your concerns to the Good Shepherd.

What Is Biblical Counseling?

Biblical counseling is one believer caring for another by bringing the truth of God’s Word to the real struggles of everyday life. It rests on the conviction that Scripture is sufficient to speak to the problems we face, and that lasting hope and change come through Jesus Christ.

Rooted in Scripture

God’s Word is our guide. Together we look at what the Bible says about your situation, your heart, and the hope that is found in Christ.

Centered on Christ

Counseling points you to Jesus, the Good Shepherd, who knows His sheep by name and cares for them.

Led by the Spirit

Real change is God’s work. We pray, listen, and trust the Holy Spirit to bring comfort, wisdom, and growth.

What to Expect

Coming to counseling can feel like a big step. Here is what meeting together looks like.

Online or in Burlington

We can meet online from wherever you are, or in person in Burlington, North Carolina, whichever is most comfortable for you.

A Caring Conversation

Sessions are a time to share what you’re facing, open God’s Word together, and pray. You’ll be listened to with patience and love.

Session Donation

Counseling is offered as a ministry. Clients generally donate around $70 per session.

Sliding Scale Available

Cost should never keep anyone from care. A sliding scale is available, so please reach out and we can talk about what works for you.
